Kinan Abbas
I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Physics Laboratory of ENS Lyon (LPENSL), France, affiliated with the CNRS. My current work focuses on multifractal analysis, multiresolution statistical modeling of spatial data (e.g., geographic rasters), as well as texture analysis and generative models for imaging, in collaboration with Patrice Abry and Stéphane Roux.
Between July 2024 and January 2026, I worked on statistical learning, texture analysis, and generative models for image analysis in collaboration with industrial partners Pulsalys and XMBauble, under the supervision of Patrice Abry and Stéphane Roux.
I completed my Ph.D. in September 2024 at the Université du Littoral Côte d’Opale (ULCO), France, with the LISIC Laboratory, under the supervision of Matthieu Puigt and Gilles Roussel. My Ph.D. work focused on low-rank matrix approximation and completion, inverse problems, and spectral correction, with applications in hyperspectral imaging.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Informatics Engineering, Systems, and Computer Networks from Latakia University (formerly Tishreen University), Syria, in 2015, and my Master’s degree from the same department in 2020.
Before my Ph.D., I had six years of experience in software development and business analysis, which helped me develop strong skills in programming, critical thinking, and project management.
